The Sisters Shiraz

The Sisters was a one off production in an extremely wet 2011, where Emily’s Paddock and Georgia’s Paddock were blended together.

Vintages

  • Winetype: Shiraz / Cabernet Franc
    Origin: Emily’s Paddock & Georgia’s Paddock

    Time of release
A blend of 20% Emily’s Paddock and 80% Georgia’s Paddock Shiraz wines, combining the creaminess, minerality and perfumed characteristics of the Emily’s in harmony with the ripe red berries and spiciness of the Georgia’s. The sum is superior to the individual components. Very elegant, power without too much weight; coming from a cooler year, this wine is delicious now and has medium term cellaring possibilities of 10-15 years. 13.5% alc/vol

Tasting notes by Andrew Caillard, MW – 17th August 2012
Medium, touch light crimson. Fresh fruit driven wine with raspberry, redcurrent, herb garden, white pepper aromas and flavours. Very atypical Jasper Hill wine with pepper, redcurrent flavours, fine plentiful al dente tannins and mineral acidity. Finishes quite green and herbal. Needs a few years to develop more richness and volume on the palate and to allow the wine to settle in with its slightly sappy tannin structure. Underlying savoury notes. Medium deep colour, Atypical and medium weighted wine with strawberry, rhubarb, dark cherry apricot aromas and developed roasted hazelnut notes.
