Emily’s own wine, grown in a single vineyard just south of Heathcote at Mia Mia, on granite based soil, compared to the red, deep basalt soils of Jasper Hill. A comparative exercise in different terroir, oak barriques complements the balance without overpowering it. 15.5% alc /vol

Medium deep crimson. Intense fragrant blackberry pastille aromas with herb garden ginger liquorice notes. Well concentrated blackberry, liquorice flavours, ginger oak complexity and underlying savoury notes, fine grainy al dente tannins and underlying mineral acidity. Still elemental but buoyant with plenty of viscosity and underlying supple structure. Drinking well now but will reward further cellaring.15.5% Alc 94 points – Now – 2025?
