Occam’s Razor Shiraz – 2005



Time of release

Growing on granitic clay soil in the southern part of Heathcote imparts more perfume to this wine. It has an all-over mouth feel with long lasting flavours of ripe red berries, aniseed and a slight tar finish. Lots of colour; a tooth stainer! Cellar it if you wish. (EL) 15.0% alc/vol

Deep colour. Lovely blackberry raspberry slightly creamy aromas vanilla malt notes. Sweet blackberry raspberry, fine grippy/ muscular loose knit tannins with wet stone notes. Brambly bitter-sweet finish. 90 points

Medium deep crimson. Complex almost pinot noir – like in stature with red cherry, strawberry, sappy, leafy aromas and some flinty, smoky notes. Palate is supple and sweet with abundant sweet fruit flavours and plentiful savoury tannins. Builds up minerally and al-dente at the finish. Now – 2020 – 93 points

Medium deep crimson. Fresh cherry kirsch like aromas with cranberry contrived fruit and flinty notes. Well concentrated cranberry strawberry tobacco leaf notes, fine looseknit leafy tannin and marked acidity. Quite elegant in structure but enough viscosity and fruit sweetness for drinking. But on the decline. 15% Alc 87 points Now
