Typical complex creamy mint, aniseed, asian spice characters with a hint of chocolate in a generous and powerful wine of exceptional elegance, length and balance between the natural acidity and impeccable tannins. Wine critic Rob Geddes MW recently described the previous 2014 vintage in two words: “pure art”. This one is as good as it gets. Long cellaring will reward, but it is delicious now! 15.0% alc/vol
Tasting notes by Andrew Caillard, MW – 8th August 2017
Medium deep crimson. Fresh redcurrant hazelnut aromas with hints of herb garden and sage. Sweet fruited wine with blackberry redcurrant fruits, slight minty cola notes, fine looseknit leafy tannin and under lying roasted chestnut mocha oak notes. Finishes gritty leafy firm with chinotto notes. Vigorous wine with strong underlying tannin structure. Will need time to come around. 15% Alc 93 points 2025-2040
