Time of release

Full-bodied elegance! What more can I say? A classic example of Emily’s Paddock showing the expected drought induced dense magenta colour and richness of flavour, with great balance and structure. Sadly, not much of it – 400 magnums (1.5L) only! 14.5% alcohol

Tasting notes by Andrew Caillard, MW – August 2007

Medium deep colour. Fresh cedar wood/ red plum/ blackcurrant aromas with some graphite notes. Beautifully focused wine with red plum/ cedar/ cassis flavours, savoury malt oak characters and fine dense chalky tannins. Finishes firm and dry but has plenty of flavour length. Lovely wine. Drinking well now but will get much better with further cellaring. Now-2030 Magnum only. 96 points

Tasting notes by Andrew Caillard, MW – 17th August 2012

Medium deep colour. Fresh salted liquorice, seaweed, black currant, wet bitumen aromas. Surprisingly fresh and bouyant with rich black fruit, graphite, smoky flavours and plentiful leafy dry tannins. Finishes sappy firm but flavours and tannins follow through to a long finish. Now – 2025 – 93 points

Tasting notes by Andrew Caillard, MW – 8th August 2017

Medium deep crimson. Intense red cherry, roasted walnut, slight tobacco leaf aromas. Red cherry roasted walnut, slight wood varnish flavours, fine looseknit leafy textures and long bright acidity. Finishes sinewy and long. Still drinking well but the structure is muscling in. 14.5% Alc 89 points Now-2025
