Shiraz / Cabernet Franc (1991)
Time of release
Essentially a Shiraz wine with about 5% Cabernet Franc in the blend, all picked and fermented together. Typically, a darker, bigger, more tannic wine than Georgia’s. Earthy, chocolaty characters and heaps of tannin. Very well balanced. Exceptional cellaring potential.

Medium deep colour. Red cherry/ red currant/ camomile touch herbal/ wormwood aromas. Sweet red cherry/ red currant/ brambly flavours, sinewy dry - touch grippy tannins. Very dry tannins. Tannins are very prominent. Will probably never soften. Now-2015. 85 points.

Medium colour. Developed mushroom, chinotto, earthy aromas. Well-concentrated chinotto earthy, sous bois flavours, fine loose knit slinky tannins. Builds up chalky dry and savoury. Fruit already beginning to fade. Now - 2020 - 87 points

Medium deep colour. Intense dark cherry, blackberry aromas with leafy notes. Generously flavoured wine with deep set dark cherry graphite mocha flavours, plentiful chalky tannin and underlying savoury oak. Builds up firm, sinewy and long, Faint menthol notes giving lift and energy. 13.5% Alc 88 points – Now -2020
